About TechSoup Kenya
The Techsoup Kenya technology donation and discount programme is a partnership between SANGONeT and TechSoup Global, and implemented by the Arid Lands Information Network (ALIN).
TechSoup Kenya, which was introduced in June 2009, assists NGOs in Kenya by providing software and hardware for very low or discounted fees in conjunction with ICT donor partners, as well as by supporting NGOs to maximise their ICT purchases and infrastructure. TechSoup Kenya enables NGOs to access software and other ICT solutions at discounts of up to 95% of the retail value.
TechSoup Kenya forms part of TechSoup Global's evolving range of technology and related programmes aimed at supporting NGOs in all corners of the globe.
With offices in San Francisco, London and Warsaw, TechSoup Global's mission is to work towards a time when every nonprofit and NGO on the planet has the technology resources and knowledge they need to operate at their full potential. TechSoup Global and its NGO partners in more than 40 countries have already distributed more than 9 million technology products to more than 175 000 nonprofits, resulting in savings of more than $2.9 billion.
TechSoup Global already has programmes in four African countries - South Africa, Botswana, Kenya and Egypt, with other countries and regions to be added in future.
TechSoup Kenya is open to all NGOs in Kenya with a formal non-profit status. In addition to meeting the general programme eligibility criteria, organisations also need to meet the specific requirements of each technology donation partner.
SANGONeT, TechSoup Global and ALIN are also working on expanding the TechSoup Kenya programme to include technology donations and offerings from other leading local and international technology companies.
