I learnt about Techsoup’s Technology Donation Programme through a referral seven years ago while still working for an organization called Pathfinder International. We registered after hearing of the discount that Pathfinder stood to benefit having a staff count of over 80 people spread across the country. The products purchased went into supporting our health interventions that focused on providing primary health care services to orphans and vulnerable children as well as targeting expectant women living with HIV and AIDS to prevent mother to child transmission of the disease.
The products went a long way in ensuring that all our frontline staff had genuine and dependable software which enabled Pathfinder track and deliver our critical services to over 4000 beneficiaries. Particularly, the software application purchased ensured that Pathfinder’s Electronic Medical Record systems was operating at its optimum.
I have since transitioned from Pathfinder and joined another Non-Profit called Action Against Hunger International (AAH-I) and I have introduced the programme to the leadership of the organization. I hope to also make savings for the organization through the product while improving AAH-I’s efficiency.
